About the author

PSOPT was created and is maintained by Victor Becerra, Professor at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, where he is part of the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Before joining Portsmouth in 2015, he was an academic at the University of Reading for sixteen years.

His research interests include computational optimal control, nonlinear and optimal control methods and their applications, state estimation, and the optimisation of energy systems, including energy storage and green hydrogen technologies. He has authored or co-authored a substantial body of peer-reviewed publications in these areas, and his work on computational optimal control led to the first release of PSOPT in 2009, which he has developed and maintained since.

He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the IET
